Happy Efraimu Temu, based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, holds a BA in Sociology and boasts over six years of extensive experience in counselling. Her diverse skill set encompasses counselling, case management, problem-solving, communication, and mediation skills. At MKUTA, she serves as a pivotal point of contact for clients seeking psychosocial and human rights support through the innovative Resource and Call centre. In addition to providing counselling services, Happy facilitates referrals and linkages to appropriate resources for clients in need. Furthermore, she actively engages in community awareness campaigns focusing on TB, COVID-19, and HIV/AIDS. Prior to her current role, Happy played a crucial role at Jhpiego, pioneering a new approach to increase partner notification among vulnerable populations such as sex workers and Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) in Dar es Salaam. Her efforts resulted in successfully linking vulnerable populations to HIV care and treatment services, demonstrating her commitment to improving the well-being of marginalized communities.
