About MKUTA
MKUTA, a non-governmental organization based in Tanzania is dedicated to combating the spread of TB and HIV by mitigating their impact on affected communities. Through various initiatives, MKUTA members offer crucial community TB and HIV care services, including patient supervision, tracing and following up on lost cases, community sensitization, health education, and promoting HIV testing and TB screening services. In a country where TB/HIV continue to have a significant impact, MKUTA stands as a beacon of hope, tirelessly working to alleviate the burden on affected individuals and communities.

MKUTA is dedicated to upholding Safeguarding principles for all vulnerable populations, particularly children, and is committed to contributing to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a focus on SDG3 – ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all. MKUTA maintains a zero-tolerance policy against abuse and exploitation of vulnerable individuals and recognizes safeguarding as everyone’s responsibility. MKUTA operates under guiding principles that prioritize inclusivity, survivor-centred approaches, shared responsibility, effective communication, risk minimization, confidentiality, regular improvements, and dignity and respect for all.
