Training
Through its various programs and initiatives, MKUTA consistently empowers its members, staff community health workers, academic institutions and healthcare professionals working in healthcare facilities by offering diverse training and capacity-building activities. These efforts aim to raise awareness and advocate for issues related to TB and HIV within the communities served by MKUTA. Some of these initiatives include:
MKUTA offers training in inclusive health communication, emphasizing key principles for effectively communicating health-related information to diverse audiences. This course is provided by LHL International, supported by the Norwegian Agency for Development (NORAD) and is available in a hybrid mode either a physical or online class through this link: https://www.lhlinternasjonal-kurs.no/
The purpose of the course is to achieve better treatment outcomes for patients, effective communication, improve working conditions, empower patients with TB, decrease stigma, motivate patients and colleagues to set and reach goals, improve communication and relation between health professionals and the patient and between CHVs and patients and CHVs and health professionals.

Developed in collaboration with ACHAP-Botswana through the Global Fund TB in the mines (TIMs) regional grant, MKUTA’s toolkit aims to hold duty bearers accountable for human rights violations and improve access to TB services, including key populations in mining and peri-mining communities.
MKUTA facilitates training sessions on modern family planning methods, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health Tanzania. This institutional capacity was brought in through the support from the USAID-NPI EXPAND grant in 2023.
MKUTA provides anti-corruption training to its sub-grantees and TB clubs, fostering transparency and accountability within the organization and its partner networks.
MKUTA extends technical assistance and support to other organizations. Notably, the organization has recently assisted local organizations in Tanzania in adopting and implementing OneImpact – TBKiganjani, a community-led monitoring tool, into their programs.
