The objective of the project is to alleviate the burden of TB in Tanzania, aiming to ensure that the rights and needs of individuals affected by TB are addressed. Specific objectives have been established within this program, including:

 

  1. Increasing awareness about Tuberculosis (TB) among the populace.
  2. Extending interventions to vulnerable groups.
  3. Conducting TB screening for individuals.
  4. Facilitating access to care and support for those affected by TB.
  5. Establishing sustainable civil society organizations.
  6. Strengthening gender and human rights for TB Club members.
  7. Ensuring effective Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting of project interventions.

 

In 2023, significant progress was made under the project, with over 97,000 cases identified from various key populations such as miners, fisher folks, and people who use drugs. Treatment support was provided to 3,278 patients, health education reached 16,686 people who use drugs, livelihood support was extended to 168 individuals, and 115 staff members and members received training on Inclusive Health Communication (IHC).
