Sokoine University of Agriculture-APOPO, based in Morogoro, and the Tanzanian Response to Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS (MKUTA) have entered into a formal collaborative agreement for the implementation of second-line Tuberculosis (TB) screening using APOPO’s TB detection rats technology. The purpose of this agreement is to facilitate cooperation between the two organizations in achieving their shared objective: enhancing TB case detection and ensuring that confirmed TB patients receive proper treatment and follow-up care. Within this partnership, MKUTA monitors the identification of additional TB cases at participating TB diagnostic centres located in Dar es Salaam, Dodoma, and Morogoro. The project encompasses a total of 75 DOT Centers, comprising 57 in Dar es Salaam, 8 in Dodoma, and 10 in Morogoro.
