MKUTA is committed to investing resources in operational research and fostering collaborations with local and international research institutions and academia. This endeavour aims to generate evidence-based interventions and results to inform TB response both nationally and globally. Currently, MKUTA actively participates in operational research led by APOPO, investigating second-line TB screening using African giant pouched rats. At the national level, MKUTA contributes as an active member of the TB Research Agenda Technical Working Group.
