As an organization, MKUTA actively participates in the National TB and HIV Collaborative Technical Working Group, with our community health volunteers contributing at the sub-national level. Additionally, MKUTA holds membership in the National Expert Committee, where we are tasked with community-based components of collaborative TB and HIV initiatives, including health education sessions and facilitating connections between communities and healthcare facilities. We advocate for the adoption of the new shorter TB Preventive Treatment (TPT) regimen in Tanzania and serve as a member of the National Expert Committee overseeing the introduction of the 3HP TPT regimen. Through our TB services, MKUTA members stimulate interest in HIV prevention, treatment, and care services, ensuring clients are appropriately referred and linked to relevant HIV services while providing ongoing support during treatment.
